Alejandro was Regional Actuary for AIG's Latin America operations from 2009-2012 with responsibility for loss reserves under both local statutory and US GAAP Regulation in 15 countries. In 2012, he was promoted to Chief Actuary for AIG’s Latin America business. He and his team also provided support for capital management in these countries, and was actively involved in 3 M&A opportunities.

From June 2015 to February 2018, he took a sabbatical. During this time he spoke at actuarial conferences several times per year in the US and Latin America. He volunteered extensively with the CAS – speaking on their behalf at conferences in Mexico, Colombia, Hong Kong, Chile, and representing the CAS at conferences in Brazil and Panama.

He and his colleagues created the Organization of Latino Actuaries which provides mentoring to students who would like to enter the actuarial profession.

Prior to working in Latin America, he priced large individual accounts in Los Angeles. He was also a product manager for homeowners insurance in Nevada and New Mexico at Farmers Insurance.

He graduated from the California Institute of Technology in 2000 with a B.S. in Mathematics. He also studied finance and programming while an undergraduate. Alejandro lives in Miami, Florida.
